[Description]
Dualcomm's patent pending 5-Port 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Desktop Switch (DCGS-2005) offers several unique features that differentiate it from other vendor's Gigabit desktop switches on the market.
Power over Ethernet Inline Power Pass-Through
DCGS-2005 implements a set of ports for Power over Ethernet (PoE) inline power pass-through, which provides a low cost solution to "expand" a PoE uplink port into four downstream ports, one of which is capable of receiving the inline power from the uplink cable to power a connected PD (e.g. an PoE enabled IP phone).
The PoE Inline power pass-through makes it possible to reuse a 10/100 IP phone in a "Gigabit to Desktop" connection. Otherwise, a more expensive IP phone with Gigabit ports has to be used to achieve end-to-end gigabit network connection.
Port-Mirroring
DCGS-2005 offers a unique and low cost solution for any network applications where port-mirroring is required. Port-Mirroring used to be a feature found only in much more expensive managed switches requiring a series of software configurations, but DCGS-2005 makes it plug and play without any software manipulation at a much lower price point.
USB Powered
DCGS-2005 is designed to be conveniently power-able by any USB port of a computer so that an otherwise heavy and bulky AC/DC power adapter becomes not necessary!
