This patent pending 5-port 10/100M Ethernet Switch (DCSW-1005/DCSW-1005PT) is another innovation by
Dualcomm that offers a unique and low cost solution for any network applications where port-mirroring is
required. Port-mirroring used to be a feature in many more costly managed switches requiring a series of
software configurations, but DCSW-1005/DCSW-1005PT makes it plug and play without any software
manipulations at a much lower price point
DCSW-1005/DCSW-1005PT also is engineered with a efficient power circuitry to be capable of receiving power
on a USB port and to operate reliably with up to five Ethernet connections at full speeds. With
DCSW-1005/DCSW-1005PT, an otherwise heavy and bulky AC/DC power adapter becomes not necessary!
DCSW-1005PT is further implemented with a set of ports for "Power over Ethernet" (PoE) inline power
pass-through, which provides a low cost solution to "expand" a PoE uplink port into four downstream ports,
one of which is capable of receiving the inline power from the uplink cable to power a connected PD (e.g. an
PoE enabled IP phone). This feature is extremely useful for the switch to work with a PoE powered device
such as PoE enabled IP phone, 802.11 wireless Access Point and IP camera.
For home or small business users, DCSW-1005 can be best used for a cost-effective packet sniffing setup to
